To All Alumni Members of Phi Chi Theta:

Annually Phi Chi Theta presents several awards to our chapters. Historically we have awarded the Chapter Growth Award and the Executive Director's Award. The Chapter Growth Award is presented to a chapter in each Region with the greatest percentage increase in membership for the year based on reports submitted to the National Office. The Executive Director's Award is presented to one chapter nationwide that exemplifies the spirit of communication and cooperation. This chapter has met all deadlines in the Calendar of Due Dates and has done an exceptional job in communicating with the National Office.

In 2008, we instituted a new Chapter Awards Program. The program awards points for items completed on the Calendar of Due Dates. The items must be completed and submitted to the National Office by the posted deadline. Chapters can also earn bonus points in each category.
Awards are presented annually based on performance. Each award level has a minimum point requirement. The annual awards include the “Fraternity Spirit & Cooperation Award”, “Business Ideals Award”, “Financial Management Award” and the “Membership Recruitment & Development Award”. Chapters can earn multiple annual awards. Biennium awards for sustained performance over a two year period are presented at the National Meeting. The Biennium Awards are the “Candle of Knowledge Award”, “Ship of Achievement Award”, “Chapter Aspiration Award” and the “Phi Chi Theta Chapter of Excellence Award”.

The Chapter Awards Program recognizes the chapters that work diligently throughout the year while infusing healthy competition between our chapters. While we do recognize the chapter with the best performance in each Region, we also recognize all chapters that meet the basic level of performance. In essence, you are only competing with yourself to make sure your chapter is successful.

During the 2008 National Chapter Meeting, a number of ribbons were awarded to chapters for their performance during the 2007-2008 school years. Biennium Awards were not presented since this was the first year of the program. I am pleased to announce that 38 annual awards were earned during the 2008-2009 school year. We also awarded three Chapter Growth Awards and the Executive Director’s Award. The award recipients will receive a certificate in the near future. A complete list of all award recipients is attached.

I would like to congratulate all of our award winners. I am proud to be able to recognize these chapters for their efforts and accomplishments. It is through the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in Phi Chi Theta that we are as successful as we are. Remember we will be presenting Biennium Awards at the 2010 National Chapter Meeting so please keep up the hard work.
