CORPORATE GIVING PROGRAMS
There are several ways for companies and employers to
support the Foundation; including Employer Matching and
Volunteer Service Grants, Payroll Deductions, and
Corporate Sponsorship.
Employer Matching Funds/Volunteer Service Grants
– Many companies have demonstrated their support to Phi
Chi Theta by matching, or even multiplying, their
employees' gifts to the Foundation. Some companies are
committed to providing support to organizations where
staff members are actively and substantially engaged as
volunteers. Ask whether your employer participates in
such a program. Certain restrictions apply to matching
gifts; please consult your company's personnel office
for further information.
Payroll Deductions – Many companies
allow their employees to designate payroll deductions to
their favorite charities. Through a simple payroll
deduction, you can designate an amount to be deducted
from each paycheck and have it donated to the
Foundation. Please consult with your company's personnel
office for further information.
Corporate Sponsorship – Through our
grants program, the Foundation sponsors
educational and leadership programs for Phi Chi
Theta and its members. As we “Build Your
Future”, the educational and leadership programs
grants program will expand to provide members
with greater opportunities for educational and
leadership programs. We are looking for
corporations that would be willing to make a
financial investment to be a sponsor for the
2010 Scholarship Award Luncheon and Educational
Seminars that the Foundation will be sponsoring
at the 2010 National Chapter Meeting in Orlando,
FL. Through your active sponsorship your company
will obtain visibility and access to our diverse
and professional membership base.
Additional sponsorship opportunities include having a
“Phi Chi Theta Day” or an event where a percentage of
gross receipts from the sales of food, merchandise,
services, etc. is donated to the Foundation. Many
service industry type companies (e.g., cruise lines,
restaurants, ice cream shops) are willing to designate a
day/time where they will donate a percentage of their
receipts to non-profit organizations. For example, Phi
Chi Theta partnered with Carnival Cruises to have an
Alumni Cruise in December 2006. For each person signing
up for the Phi Chi Theta Alumni Cruise a percentage of
the cost for that ticket will be donated to the
Foundation.
If you would like more information about our Corporate
Sponsorship Program or would like discuss sponsorship
opportunities please contact us at
foundationinfo@phichitheta.org.
"LIKE KIND" CONTRIBUTIONS
Every year, individuals and
corporations donate products, services, and/or
non-monetary contribution in support of the
Foundation’s educational programs and
scholarship endowments. These "like-kind" gifts
allow the Foundation to minimize overhead and
administrative costs associated with our
programs. Through these “in-kind” contributions
the Foundation has been able to sponsor its
biennial Auction and Raffle, obtain software,
and receive professional services for managing
our regulatory compliance and annual reporting.
For the 2008 Auction and Raffle that the
Foundation sponsored at the National Chapter
Meeting over $4,000 worth products and
merchandise was generously donated by members of
Phi Chi Theta, friends and family, and business
partners. Items for the silent and live auction
included: custom made jewelry from The Queen
Beader, artwork, travel bags, hand-painted Lenox
figurine, handmade Pasta bowl, US Savings Bonds,
“Get Up and Go” travel vouchers, and a
hand-crafted, limited edition Teddy Bear.
Special theme–based baskets were donated for our
Basket Raffle. These theme baskets included fun
items for your dorm “Dorm Daze”; a collection of
“Phi Chi Theta Keepsakes”; products from the
“Heartland of Iowa”; and $25 worth of Tennessee
Lottery tickets with “Luck Be a Lady.”
We’re making plans to sponsor a Silent Auction
and Basket Raffle as well as a special Live
Auction at the 2010 National Chapter Meeting.
We’re looking for some exciting products that
both collegiate and alumni members can bid on or
take a chance on winning in the raffle. Please
contact us at
FoundationInfo@phichitheta.org to learn more
about what you can do to make a “Like-Kind”
donation to the Foundation.
STOCKS AND SECURITIES
A gift of stock or closely held securities can benefit you and the Foundation. Here's how:
|
ENDOWMENTS
A gift that establishes an
endowment demonstrates your commitment to the
Foundation and Fraternity. An endowment is a
fund that is maintained in perpetuity. The
endowment would be designated for a particular
purpose/objective that is identified by you, the
donor. Your gift could be designated to support
such initiatives as scholarships, leadership
seminars, internship opportunities, or even
operational support for the Foundation. A
portion of the annual investment return is used
for funding the initiative or program that the
endowment has been setup to support. Such
endowments, which typically bear the name of the
donor or donors, reflect your interests and
serve as an enduring testament to your
generosity. Currently, the Foundation has an
endowment that funds the Naomi L. Satterfield
Memorial Scholarship that is awarded annually to
members that exemplify the qualities of
leadership and commitment to Phi Chi Theta.
If you would like more information about
establishing an endowment please contact us at
FoundationInfo@phichitheta.org.
ESTATE PLANNING
As part of your estate
planning, you can have an impact on future
generations of Phi Chi Theta's by making a
planned gift/bequests to the Foundation. There
are many different ways to support the
Foundation with your future gift; including cash
or percentage of estate, stocks/securities,
annuities, life insurance policies, and trusts
to name a few. Tangible benefits gained from
your planned gift to the Foundation include
immediate tax benefits, as well as savings on
taxes owed by your estate. The real reward of
your giving will be in the knowledge that your
planned gift will create programs that will
provide for future generations of international
leaders and business professionals.
If you would like more information about making
a planned gift or bequest to the Foundation
please contact us at
FoundationInfo@phichitheta.org.
CHAPTER FUNDRAISING PROJECT
Every year, the collegiate and
alumni chapters of Phi Chi Theta Fraternity are
encouraged to sponsor a fundraising event where
all or a portion of the proceeds from the event
is donated to the Foundation. By sponsoring such
an activity, this completes the full circle and
solidifies the close relationship that Phi Chi
Theta Fraternity has with the Foundation. Where
the Foundation is able to support and sponsor
programs and initiatives that will directly and
indirectly benefit the members of collegiate and
alumni chapters. Where members of the Fraternity
are able to give a little something back to the
Foundation and thereby enabling future
generations of Phi Chi Theta's to participate in
similar if not better programs that promote
leadership and foster the skills necessary to
compete in the international business arena.
If you would like more information about how
your chapter can participate in a fundraising
effort for the Foundation, please contact us at
FoundationInfo@phichitheta.org.
